Some concerns, such as incorrect recipe settings, may be resolved by asking for a correction rather than taking action against an account.

Making a Report

When reporting, select the reason that best describes the concern. The report walks you through the relevant category and any follow-up options, and you can add an explanation or supporting evidence. Please submit reports honestly. Deliberately false, misleading, duplicate, or abusive reports may themselves break the Community Guidelines. Recipe Room will not disclose your identity to the reported account. We may be unable to tell you the detailed outcome because of privacy, legal, or security obligations. When you submit a report, Recipe Room creates a moderation case and gives you a case reference. Every case is reviewed by our team, who determine the appropriate action. You can follow the status of the reports you have submitted in the app.

What Happens After a Report

Recipe Room reviews available information and considers the context, severity, account history, applicable legal obligations, and any risk created by the reported content or behaviour. A report may result in:
  • No action where no violation is found
  • Content correction, removal, or restoration
  • A warning
  • A temporary account restriction
  • An indefinite restriction while a concern is reviewed
  • A permanent account ban
A warning will normally be considered before a restriction or permanent ban. Severe abuse, fraud, repeated violations, legal requirements, or attempts to evade enforcement may result in immediate action. Recipe Room reserves the right to decide whether the Community Guidelines were breached and to select, change, reverse, or maintain the action it considers appropriate. Where Recipe Room takes action against an account, the affected user will normally receive the related case reference, the action taken, the reason for the action, its duration where applicable, and any available appeal instructions. Recipe Room may limit information where disclosure could create a privacy, legal, or security risk.

Appeals

An account that receives an eligible permanent ban may submit one appeal. The appeal should explain why the decision should be reconsidered and may include supporting information. Recipe Room will review the appeal and may:
  • Accept the appeal and restore access.
  • Partially accept the appeal and replace the permanent ban with an indefinite restriction.
  • Reject the appeal and maintain the permanent ban.
Temporary and indefinite restrictions cannot be appealed. After a permanent-ban appeal has been decided, the appeal decision is final and no further appeal is available. Recipe Room reserves the right to maintain its original decision where the appeal does not provide sufficient reason to change it. For child safety concerns, including suspected child sexual abuse or exploitation, email safety@reciperoom.io. You do not need an account to do so.
