Activity Notifications
The Activity screen brings together events around your account and work, such as:- New followers
- Likes on posts or recipes
- Comments on posts or recipes
- Replies to comments
- Mentions in comments
- Mentions and credits on posts or recipes
- Someone forking your recipe
Official System Notifications
System Notifications are announcements from the Recipe Room team. They are separate from Activity notifications, which are created by things people do around your work. When there is a new announcement, a banner appears in the app with its title. Tap it to open the full announcement in a sheet. The body can include links to relevant Recipe Room pages or support information. Closing the expanded announcement marks it as opened and removes its banner from Home. It doesn’t delete the announcement. Open Account Settings → System notifications to revisit current announcements, including ones you have already opened. An announcement that Recipe Room withdraws will no longer appear in that history. System Notifications can also arrive as a device push alert when push is enabled, but the in-app announcement and its history do not depend on the Activity list.Push Notifications
If push notifications are enabled on your device, Recipe Room can send alerts for important activity, messages, community interactions, or an official announcement. If you’re not receiving push notifications, check your device notification settings and make sure Recipe Room is allowed to send notifications. Open Account Settings → Notifications to control the push alerts currently available in the app:- Direct messages covers new chat messages, replies, and group invites.
- Mentions covers mentions in comments and captions.
Direct Messages
Messages let you talk with another creator one-to-one. Start a new message and search by their display name or username. Use Search messages in your inbox to find an existing conversation by its name, participants, or recent message preview. You can send text messages of up to 2,000 characters and share a post, recipe, collection, or profile directly into the conversation. Tap a shared card to open the original content. If it has since been deleted or made unavailable, the card may no longer open. A one-to-one chat is unavailable when either account has blocked the other.Group Messages
Group conversations are for several people. Give the group a name and add at least two other participants. Use group chats for planning shoots, sharing recipe ideas, discussing collections, or collaborating with other creators.Managing a Message
Press and hold a message to see the actions available for it:- Copy any message that contains text.
- Edit your own text within one hour of sending it.
- Delete your own message for everyone within three days of sending it.
- Delete a message from your own view at any time. Other people in the conversation will still see their copy.
Leaving a Conversation
Deleting a conversation removes it from your inbox. It doesn’t erase the other participants’ copy. In a group, removing the conversation also means leaving that group. Blocking someone closes the one-to-one conversation for new messages. Unblocking them doesn’t restore any follows that were removed by the block.Message Safety
- Do not send passwords, verification links, or other sensitive information.
- Block an account if you need to stop direct contact.
- Report the account or relevant content separately if it may break the Community Guidelines.
