Before Recipe Room can identify a supported camera or send a Recipe, the camera must use the correct USB connection mode.

Select the Connection Mode

  1. Disconnect the USB cable and turn the camera on.
  2. Open the camera’s connection settings.
  3. Open Connection Mode.
  4. Select USB RAW CONV./BACKUP RESTORE.
  5. Turn the camera off before connecting it to your phone or tablet.
The required option is USB RAW CONV./BACKUP RESTORE. Do not select a USB card-reader, webcam, or tether-shooting mode.

Where to Find It

Fujifilm changes the parent menu name between models and firmware versions. If the wording on your camera differs, find your model in the official Fujifilm manual finder and search its manual for USB RAW CONV./BACKUP RESTORE. Fujifilm documents the setting directly in manuals such as the X-T5 Network/USB Setting guide and the X-E4 USB connection guide.

Connect to Recipe Room

After saving the connection mode:
  1. Keep the camera off.
  2. Connect the camera with the correct data cable and adapter for your device.
  3. Open Send to camera in Recipe Room and start Identify camera.
  4. Turn the camera on while Recipe Room is searching.
Continue with Send a Recipe to Your Camera for the cable diagrams and custom-slot selection. To avoid using a cable, follow Add a Recipe Manually.

If Recipe Room Cannot Identify the Camera

  • Recheck that USB RAW CONV./BACKUP RESTORE is still selected. A firmware update or settings reset can change connection options.
  • Confirm that the cable supports data rather than charging only.
  • Turn the camera off, reconnect the cable, start Identify camera, and then turn the camera on.
  • Check Camera Model Support for compatibility information.
