Collections let you bring Posts and Recipes together around an idea. Use them as private working boards or publish them so the community can browse and save the set.

Build a collection around a look

A collection is useful when the selection itself tells a story. You might gather several soft, low-contrast Recipes for quiet mornings, build a travel reference around one camera, or collect Posts showing how a style works across different places. The Posts and Recipes inside remain owned by their original creators. A collection organises them; it doesn’t copy or take ownership of them.

Saved Items or a collection?

Saved Items are always private. Collections can be private or public.

Create a collection

  1. Open the create menu and choose Collection, or create one from Saved.
  2. Add a clear name.
  3. Add a short description explaining what connects the work.
  4. Add a location when the set is tied to a place.
  5. Add useful tags when the collection will be public.
  6. Choose public or private visibility.
  7. Add Posts and Recipes.
New collections are private by default. You can change the visibility later. Use @ in the description to link a user, Post, Recipe, or Collection. Read Tagging and Crediting for how published tags work. Locations use the same place picker as Posts, Recipes, and profiles. Choose a place from the results when one fits, or keep your own wording when it does not. You can change or remove the location later.

Add work from the community

Open the save menu on a Post or Recipe and select the collections it belongs in. One item can sit in more than one collection. Because collections point to the original content, people can still open each Post or Recipe and reach its creator. Removing an item from your collection doesn’t delete the original. Tap an item in a collection to open it in the vertical browser. Swipe up or down to move through the collection’s Posts and Recipes without returning to the grid after each one.

Share a creator collection

Public collections appear on your profile and can be discovered through Search or Explore where relevant. Other people can open the collection, browse its contents, like it, comment on it, save the whole set, repost it, or share it outside Recipe Room. A repost appears in their Reposts tab and keeps the collection connected to its original creator. Public collections work best when they have a specific point of view. A focused collection gives people a reason to follow your taste as well as your photography. The collection keeps the creator visible, so someone who enjoys the selection can open their profile and follow them. A mention in the description can also lead directly to a linked user, Post, Recipe, or Collection.

Edit or delete a collection

Open your collection’s more menu and choose Edit to change its name, description, location, tags, visibility, or mentions. You can also add and remove Posts or Recipes as the collection changes. Changing a public collection to private removes it from public discovery without deleting the collection or the work inside it. Choose Delete from the edit screen when you no longer want the collection. The Posts and Recipes inside stay with their original creators and are not deleted.

Keep collections useful

  • Use a name that explains the idea.
  • Keep the description to one clear sentence when possible.
  • Remove work that no longer fits.
  • Use accurate tags on public collections.
  • Check the contents before changing a private collection to public.
