Tagging and crediting do different jobs. A tag links something you mention in your text. A credit records who contributed to a Post or Recipe, or points to an external source.

Tag something in your text

Type @ in a Post caption, Recipe description, Collection description, or comment, then choose a user, Post, Recipe, or Collection from the suggestions. The published tag stays tappable:
  • A user tag opens that person’s Recipe Room profile.
  • A Post tag opens the Post.
  • A Recipe tag opens the Recipe.
  • A Collection tag opens the Collection.
Your profile bio also supports user tags. Type @ while editing the bio and choose the account you want to mention. Published bio mentions open the person’s profile. Use tags when a person or piece of Recipe Room content belongs in what you are writing. User mentions in Post, Recipe, and Collection text or in comments can create a notification. A profile bio mention stays linked but does not send a mention notification. Tags to Posts, Recipes, or Collections open that content and do not notify a user.

Credit a Recipe Room user

Use Attribution while creating or editing a Post or Recipe when someone contributed to the work but does not need to be mentioned in the caption or description.
  1. Keep the @ option selected in Attribution.
  2. Search for the person’s username.
  3. Select their account.
  4. Repeat if more than one person contributed, then save or publish.
You can credit up to 20 Recipe Room accounts. Newly credited users can receive a credit notification.

Credit an external source

If a person or source is outside Recipe Room, switch Attribution to the link option. Add a clear name and web address for each source, then save or publish. Each link appears with the content’s credits and opens outside Recipe Room. Both the name and a valid web address are required for every link. External links do not send a notification.
A Post or Recipe can credit up to 20 Recipe Room users or include up to five external source links. Switching attribution type clears the other option, so check the field before publishing.

See tags and credits on a Post or Recipe

Open the credit indicator on a published Post or Recipe to see the people and sources connected to it:
  • Tagged lists Recipe Room users mentioned in the caption or description.
  • Credited lists Recipe Room users selected in Attribution.
  • Credited links shows the external source names and websites.
Post, Recipe, and Collection tags remain tappable in the published text, but only user mentions appear under Tagged. User rows open the person’s profile and let you follow or unfollow them. An external credit opens in your browser and is marked Visited after you open it.

Tags, credits, and source Recipes

Tagging or crediting someone does not transfer ownership of their work and does not replace a Recipe source relationship. If your Recipe started from an existing Recipe, use Community or Forked so Recipe Room can keep the source attached. If your Post uses an existing Recipe, link that Recipe to the Post as well.
