Recipe Room is built around photographers sharing what they make and how they made it. The community becomes more useful when people follow work they value, ask thoughtful questions, and show how Recipes are being used.

Keep up with work you care about

Follow a photographer when you want to see what they publish next. You can follow them from their profile and from supported Post or Recipe views. Following also helps Home and Explore understand which photographers and styles matter to you. Open the follower or following count on a profile to browse either list. You can search by display name or username when you are looking for someone specific.

Start a useful conversation

Use a like when you want to show quick appreciation. Leave a comment when you want to ask about the conditions, settings, process, or result. Good conversations add something to the work. Keep critique constructive, specific, and welcome. Direct messages and group chats are available when a conversation belongs away from the public thread. Comments can tag users, Posts, Recipes, and Collections with @. Read Tagging and Crediting for tagging, contributor credits, and external attribution, or Notifications and Messages for message controls and safety guidance.

Keep and share what matters

Bookmark a Post, Recipe, or collection when you want to return to it privately. Build a collection when several pieces belong together around a look, camera, project, place, or mood. Public collections let other photographers browse the set while every Post and Recipe remains connected to its original creator.

Pass work on with a repost

Repost another photographer’s Post, Recipe, or public collection when you want to share their work with people who follow you. Use the repost action on the content you want to pass on. The original content stays with its creator. A repost keeps that connection visible rather than making a new copy on your account. Your reposts appear in the Reposts tab on your profile. Home can also show Posts and Recipes reposted by people you follow. Collections you repost can be opened from your Reposts tab. Saving keeps work privately for later; reposting shares it with others. Removing a repost removes it from your Reposts without deleting the original work.

Show a Recipe in use

Linking a Post to the Recipe used is more than a label. It lets people move from the photograph to the settings and gives the Recipe another real interpretation. If you adapt the settings from an existing Recipe, create a Fork instead. Use a title that isn’t identical to the source and keep the source Recipe linked. See what happens around your work

Activity brings the useful moments together. It can show when another photographer follows you, likes or comments on your work, replies to a comment, mentions or credits you, or creates a Fork from your Recipe. These signals help you see where your work is travelling through the community. They’re context, not a score or a guarantee of future reach.

Share beyond Recipe Room

Supported Posts, Recipes, collections, and profiles can be shared outside the app. The shared destination keeps the type of content and its creator clear, subject to account and access requirements. You can also share a profile directly into a Recipe Room conversation. The recipient can open the shared card to visit that photographer’s profile.
