Your Profile

Your profile gives people one place to understand what you photograph, which Recipes you share, and what you collect.

Posts and Recipes, one profile

Posts and Recipes stay separate because they do different jobs. Your profile keeps both easy to browse:

• The Posts tab shows your photographs and stories.
• The Recipes tab shows the settings and looks you have published or added through the supported Recipe flows.
• The Reposts tab shows Posts, Recipes, and collections you have passed on from other photographers, keeping their original creators attached.
• Public collections show the sets you have built around a look, project, camera, or idea.

Someone can find one Post through Explore, open your profile, browse your Recipes, and follow you for future work. Choose a two or three-column grid in profile settings when you want to change how densely your Posts and Recipes appear on your own profile.

Profile details

Your public profile can include:

• Name and username.
• Avatar and cover photograph.
• A short bio.
• Location.
• Instagram handle and website.
• Posts, Recipes, reposts, and public collections.
• Followers and following.

Open your profile and choose Edit profile to update these details. When adding a location, choose a place from the results when one fits or keep your own wording as a free-text location. The location is public and can open a Search for public Posts, Recipes, collections, and photographers connected to the same place. You can change or remove it from Edit profile at any time. Keep the bio clear and useful. A camera, place, subject, or style can tell people more than a generic description. Do not add private information you would not want the community to see. Your bio can also tag another Recipe Room user. Read Tagging and Crediting for how profile mentions work.

Build a following

People can reach your profile through Posts, Recipes, linked content, Search, Explore, comments, and public collections. Following lets them keep up with what you publish next. You don’t need to turn every photograph into a Recipe to stay active. Share Posts as you go, publish Recipes when you have a reusable look, and connect them when a Recipe was used. What stays private

The following aren’t shown as public profile content:

• Your sign-in email.
• Saved Items.
• Private collections.
• Muted and blocked accounts.
• Reports and account controls.

Account settings

Account settings bring together:

• Sign-in email and password.
• Light, dark, or system appearance.
• Photography preferences and Your feed, a snapshot of what is shaping your recommendations.
• My Gear, where you can list the cameras you own.
• Official System Notifications from the Recipe Room team.
• Notification controls as they become available.
• Muted and blocked accounts.
• Reports you have submitted.
• Privacy, terms, support, feedback, and community links.
• Sign out and permanent account deletion.

Preferences

Open Photography preferences to update the cameras, film simulations, and photography interests you chose during setup. These are starting signals for Explore. They help Recipe Room make early recommendations but do not limit you to those choices. Choose Your feed from Photography preferences to see the current tag, film-simulation, and camera affinities built from your choices and the way you use Recipe Room. You can reset that profile when your interests change. Resetting doesn’t remove your account, Posts, Recipes, saves, or collections. Read Explore and Recommendations for the full explanation.

My Gear

Open My Gear to add or remove the camera models you own. Recipes can then show a compatibility result for each of your cameras and let you see the wider list of compatible models. My Gear is not your feed preference list, and changing it doesn’t train your recommendations. It also doesn’t mean a camera supports Send to camera. Recipe compatibility, recommendation preferences, and connected-camera support answer three different questions. Read Camera Model Support for those differences.

System Notifications

Open System notifications to revisit current announcements from the Recipe Room team, including ones you have already opened. These are separate from Activity notifications and device push alerts. Read Notifications and Messages for how each type works.

Send to Camera

Turn off Show Send to camera if you don’t use the feature. This hides its actions from Recipes and Recipe Analyser without affecting other Recipe tools. You can turn it back on at any time.

Verified accounts

A verified badge is a platform badge. It’s separate from email verification. Email verification confirms access to an account. A verified badge helps identify selected public accounts in the community. A community badge is different again. It recognises members who bring in new photographers and keep at least 5 Recipes on their profile; it does not mean their identity has been verified. For account deletion, read Delete Account.
