# Personal Controls

> Hide, show more or fewer, mute, block, and report. These controls shape your experience and help keep you safe on Recipe Room.

Recipe Room gives you a set of personal controls to shape what you see, manage who can reach you, and flag content for review.

Most of these controls only change your own experience and do not notify anyone. **Report** is different: it asks Recipe Room to review a concern. You can find these controls on posts, recipes, collections, and profiles in the app.

## Hide, Show More, and Show Fewer

These feed controls tune what you see. They do not create a report or notify the creator, and they directly influence your recommendations.

* **Hide this content** removes a post or recipe from your feed. Once hidden, that item will not reappear in your feed.
* **Show fewer posts like this** removes the content and tells Recipe Room to show less like it across Home and Explore.
* **Show more posts like this** tells Recipe Room to show more like it across Home and Explore.

Show more and show fewer shape your recommendations over time and work alongside choices such as likes, saves, and follows. For more on how recommendations work, see [Explore and Personalisation](/discovery/explore-and-personalisation).

## Mute

Muting is a quiet, one-way control. It hides an account's content from you without affecting them.

When you mute an account:

* Their posts and recipes stop appearing in your feed.
* They are not notified that you muted them.
* You stay connected. Muting does not unfollow either account, and the muted account can still view and interact with your public profile and content.
* You can still visit their profile directly if you choose to.

Muting is useful when you want a break from someone's content but do not want to block them. You can review or remove your mutes at any time from Settings.

## Block

Blocking is a stronger control that separates you and another account.

When you block someone:

* Both accounts immediately stop following each other.
* You no longer see the blocked account's content, and they no longer see yours.
* Direct messaging between you is disabled, and any existing one-to-one conversation is closed for new messages.
* The blocked account cannot interact with your profile or content.
* The blocked account is not notified that you blocked them.

You can review your blocked accounts and unblock someone at any time from Settings. Unblocking re-enables messaging but does not automatically restore previous follows.

Blocking is a personal control and does not automatically create a report. If you believe an account or its content breaks the [Community Guidelines](/profile/community-guidelines), use **Report** as well.

## Report

Reporting asks Recipe Room to review a concern. It is separate from hiding, muting, and blocking.

You can report posts, recipes, collections, and profiles. When reporting, choose the reason that best describes the concern and add any detail or supporting evidence. Each report creates a moderation case with a case reference you can follow in the app.

For the full reporting flow, what happens after a report, enforcement, and appeals, see [Reporting and Appeals](/support/reporting-and-appeals).

## Safety and Child Safety

Recipe Room has a zero-tolerance approach to child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE) and child sexual abuse material (CSAM). You can report suspected CSAE or CSAM directly in the app using the controls above, and these reports are treated as the highest priority.

You can also email the child safety point of contact at [safety@reciperoom.io](mailto:safety@reciperoom.io). You do not need an account to do so. If you believe a child is in immediate danger, contact your local emergency service first.
