# Community Badges and Referrals

> Share Recipe Room, track referrals, and earn recognition for helping the community grow.

A community badge recognises people who help Recipe Room grow through the referral programme. It does not mean Recipe Room has verified someone's identity.

## How referrals work

Every member has a personal referral link and code in **Account settings → Referral programme**.

* Share your personal link with a friend. It directs them to the appropriate app store and keeps your referral attached to their sign-up.
* If a friend shares their referral code directly, enter it in the sign-up flow before continuing with Apple, Google, or email.
* Once their eligible sign-up is complete, it counts once towards both of your community badge goals.

Someone who signs up with a valid referral therefore begins with 1 of the 10 referrals needed for their own community badge, while also adding one to the person who invited them.

## Earn a community badge

Complete 10 eligible referrals to earn your community badge. You can check your progress and share your link from **Account settings → Referral programme**.

The badge is recognition for helping new members join Recipe Room. Once earned, it is yours to keep.

## What the badge means

The community badge recognises a contribution to the growth of the Recipe Room community. It is not:

* Proof that Recipe Room has verified the member's identity.
* The same as confirming an email address.
* A verified-account badge.
* A subscription badge or subscription benefit.
* An endorsement of the member's expertise, content, or conduct.

A member can have both a community badge and a subscription badge. If only one badge can be shown publicly, the subscription badge takes precedence without removing the community badge.

## Eligible referrals

A referral counts after the new member completes an eligible sign-up using the personal link or a valid referral code. The same sign-up cannot be counted more than once. Sign-ups created to manipulate referral progress may be excluded.
