# Change Password

> Update your password while logged in.

Use change password when you know your current password and want to update it.

## Change Your Password

1. Open **Profile**, then **Settings**.
2. Choose the password option under sign-in.
3. Enter your current password.
4. Enter your new password.
5. Save the change.

Your new password must be at least eight characters and include an uppercase letter, a lowercase letter, and a number.

## If You Do Not Know Your Current Password

Use [Forgot Password](/account/forgot-password) instead.

If you created the account with Apple or Google and never set a Recipe Room password, continue using that provider to log in.

## Good Password Habits

* Use at least 8 characters with uppercase, lowercase, and a number.
* Use a password you don't use on other services.
* Avoid names, birthdays, or short phrases.
* Consider using a password manager.

Recipe Room support will never ask you to send your current password.
